I love my last name. It fits so well with my new identity in Christ. The bible tells us in I Peter 2:9 that we are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession SO THAT you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. Do you see yourself as royalty? What you believe about yourself will determine your behavior. Listen to Isaiah 62:3, “You will also be a crown of beauty in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.” The Greek word “royal” means kingly, regal, majestic, noble.

We tell our counselee’s that truth is what God says, regardless of what you feel, think or how you behave. It’s hard for us to separate behavior from identity. But birth determines identity, not behavior.

As I thought about a name for my blog the word decree just jumped out at me. The word decree means: a verdict, a declaration, an announcement. It’s one thing to say I am royalty and quite another thing to BE DECLARED royalty by the King of Kings. Do you truly understand that when you entered into Christ that you became co-heirs with Him in the Kingdom of God? Romans 8:17

There is a movie called “A Knights Tale” that shows a young man, a commoner, posing as royalty and he’s found out. The King’s son then comes and proclaims him royalty. When the King proclaims anything, it is irrevocable. That is what Jesus did for us!
Why do we walk around in this world discouraged and defeated? Colossians tells us to set our mind on things above, not on things on the earth. Remember who you are. Remember where you are seated.

Remember whose you are. ALL things work together for good to those who love God. Will you choose to receive the verdict that YOU are royalty? Peter tells us that since we are who God says we are we GET to proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called us out of darkness into his marvelous light. Take a moment and comment on my blog of an excellent blessing you have received from your Heavenly Father.

I want to use this WEEKLY blog to announce and declare God’s truth. Sometimes I will announce and declare what God is showing me personally in my own life in hopes that you will be able to relate and will be encouraged. I love to write but more than my love for writing is my desire to give people hope. Do you realize we need one another? I need your words of encouragement and I hope my words encourage you.
