None of these things are FOR your salvation but will help you grow in your faith, which results in great fulfillment and influence.

YOU CAN GROW! II Peter 3:18 – But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

FOLLOW JESUS IN THE BELIEVER’S BAPTISM. Mark 1:9 – And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized of John in Jordan. ***THIS ACT DOES NOT SAVE YOU. IT IS A WAY TO SHOW THE WORLD YOU ARE A FOLLOWER OF JESUS.

JOIN A COMMUNITY OF BELIEVER’S. Hebrews 10:25 – And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

YOU CAN CHOOSE TO SAY NO TO SIN! Romans 6:11 – Count yourself dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not LET sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey it’s evil desires. (Don’t forget WHO you are! Say no to temptation and live consistently with WHO you really are!)

YOU HAVE A PROTECTOR WHO FORGIVES. I John 2:1 – My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin, But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father – Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

GOD IS NOT FINISHED WITH YOU! Philippians 1:6 – Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

DON’T GIVE IN TO YOUR FLESH. Romans 13:14 – Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.

REMEMBER YOU HAVE AN ENEMY! I Peter 5:8-10 – Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of siufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will HIMSELF restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

YOU HAVE HIS SPIRIT WHO AFFIRMS YOU! I John 3:24 – The One who keeps God’s commands lives IN HIM and HE IN THEM. And this is how we know that He lives IN US; we know it by the Spirit He gave us.

REMEMBER YOU ARE AN OVERCOMER! I JOHN 4:4 – You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is IN YOU is greater than the one who is in the world.

YOU HAVE POWER! II PETER 1:3-9 – His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith, goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in INCREASING MEASURE they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But whoever does not have them is near sighted and blind FORGETTING that they HAVE BEEN cleansed from their past sins.

YOU CAN WALK BY THE SPIRIT. Galatians 5:16 – So I say, walk by the Spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other so that you don’t do as you wish. (The real you wants to make godly choices.)

YOU CAN SET YOUR MIND ON THE SPIRITS DESIRES. Romans 8:5 – Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desire.

SET YOUR MIND ON THINGS ABOVE. Colossians 3:1-3 -10 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in god….v5. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature; sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. YOU USED TO WALK in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must also rid yourself of all such things as these; anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with it’s practices and have put on the new self, WHICH IS BEING RENEWED IN KNOWLEDGE IN THE IMAGE OF ITS CREATOR.
