I’m glad you asked. My child, I am the Savior of the world. (Luke 2:11). I am one with the Father. (John 10) I am love and I love you more than you can imagine. (John 3:16, I John 4:8). So what am I saving you from? My Father and I had great things in mind when we created mankind. We wanted a family! Adam and Eve were righteous just like us, and we were all super close. However, the tempter convinced them to do the one thing I asked them not to do. They ate from the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. He deceived them much like he deceives people today. He makes them think that I am not a good God and that I am holding out on them. We made it clear that there was only one rule. We told them if they ate from that specific tree, they would surely die. When they ate from the tree everything changed. Not only for them but for the entire human race. Their spirit was alive to me, but it instantly died. Their eyes were opened and they ran and hid from me. They felt shame and fear for the very first time. This was all passed down to the entire human race. (Eph. 2:1-2). Now, none of this took us by surprise. We already had a plan to redeem them and the entire human race if they would believe in us. (Gen. 3).
So, we are saving you from living a life disconnected from us forever and dying in your sin. (Rom. 6:23, John 3:16). Aren’t you tired of doing everything through your own strength? You see, we never created human beings with the ability to live life well apart from us. Why? Because we want you! And whether you know it or not, you desire a relationship with us. If you only knew how much we loved you, you would want to be reconnected with us. You see, we are not a harsh egotistical god like some people in the world have described us. Remember, the tempter is a deceiver. Don’t fall for it. Pride will often keep people from recognizing their need for us.
Here is the plan that we created before the foundation of the world. (Eph. 1:4). Mankind became a sinner in the garden of Eden. Sinner was their identity. Their spirit died and they were disconnected from us immediately. Did you know that you don’t have to commit one sin to make yourself a sinner? You were born a sinner. Yes, you do set out in life sinning, but you were already a sinner. This fact made everyone unacceptable to us because our very nature is righteous. Well, we couldn’t have that! According to our own holy standards, sin had to be paid for. We cannot connect with a sinful person. Sin destroys and hurts everything! So I agreed to follow the plan we made before the foundation of the world. I was born into this world, as one of you, so that I could live a righteous life. This made me an acceptable sacrifice for your sin. I chose to pay for your sin and, to give you a right standing with us when you believe in us. I then brought your dead spirit back alive and actually entered into your spirit. (Rom. 8:10) We have been reunited with our beloved people who will choose to believe in us and accept our payment for their sin.
I am in your spirit now, therefore, I have given you a brand new identity. You are no longer a sinner. Yes, you sin because you still live in a fallen world but your true identity is not a sinner. I placed my spirit in your spirit, and made your spirit righteous, holy, loving, forgiving, and so much more. (I Cor. 1:30) Once you choose to believe in me, I start a process of teaching you how to live out of your spirit. Do you recognize your need for me? Do you see that your life is missing something? Do you understand that sin always destroys everything and you need a Savior? Making a distinct choice to believe in me and receive my gift of salvation changes everything! (Eph. 2:8 & 9, Rom. 3:23, Rom. 5:8, Rom. 6:23, Rom. 10:13). So, what do I want? I want to be reunited with every human being. I want to rescue you from the domain of darkness and transfer you to my kingdom and family. (Col. 1:13) I want to develop a deep relationship with you.(Jer. 31:3) I want to live my life through you. (Gal. 2:20) I want to use your distinct personality that I created to influence others. (Rom. 2:19) I want to give you fulfillment in your life. (John 10:10) I want to meet your deepest needs. (Phil. 4:19) I want to heal your heart and comfort you from the pains of your world. (Psalm 71:21) I want to help you live out of the real person that I have made you to be on the inside in your spirit. (Gal. 5:25, Rom. 6) I want to enjoy you for all eternity. (Eph) I want you to repent (change your mind) and believe me. (Mark 1:15) So, what am I saving you from? I’m saving you from living life apart from me, in your own strength, with no real connection with true love. (Rom. 6:23) (Isa. 59:2) I am saving you from spending eternity separated from me. (Rom. 6:23) Sadly, not everyone will accept my free gift of salvation and that breaks my heart. Will you trust me today?
